"A thunderous signing. We're talking about a former world-class player who has experience at a high international level, both as a player and a coach," said Norwegian Football Association chairman Randi Gustad at a press conference.
60-year-old Andersson has previously won Swedish Championship gold with Drott of Halmstad and has been national team captain for Austria.
As a player, he was part of the "Bengan boys" - the successful Swedish national team under Bengt Johansson's leadership - and has, among other things, two World Cup gold medals, three Olympic silver medals and four European Championship gold medals on his list of achievements.
Now he is aiming for new championship medals with Norway, a country he has a small connection to, he said during the presentation in Oslo.
My birthday is on May 17th.
