The magnet fisherman made the find in the afternoon and the national bomb squad was called.
The bomb squad examined the object and took it with them. Police say on their website that it is believed to be an old grenade. There is no suspicion of a crime.
It is not unusual for grenades to be found in the Helge River.
A month ago, some apparently old grenades were pulled out of the river, Kristianstadsbladet reports. And in September last year, a magnet fisherman pulled up an old grenade.
