Roberto Mazzarella had been on the run since January last year, but was arrested without incident in a luxury villa on the Amalfi Coast.
The branch of the Camorra that Mazzarella had ruled over is known for counterfeiting and other crimes. As recently as March, 16 people with connections to the clan were arrested on suspicion of online fraud.
