Madelene Sagström was tied for the lead going into the final round on the US tour – but there she lost and slipped in the result list to a final shared 14th place.
Sagström hit one over par on the final round after four bogeys and three birdies and was ultimately six strokes from winning.
It was tight and tough going into the final round of the Meijer LPGA Classic in Belmont, Michigan, when six players shared the lead.
But Sagström could not repeat her strong play from Saturday and take her third tour victory and the second this year after her win in Las Vegas in April.
Instead, the win went to Carlota Ciganda, Spain, who played the final round at 5 under par and ultimately was 16 under par. Ciganda won by one stroke ahead of Choi Hye-Jin, South Korea.
