"I have asked the government to address the demands underlying the protest movement," Macron said during a visit to Marseille.
The prime minister and other ministers will present several major, concrete measures this afternoon.
Among other things, the government is expected to announce changes to Parcoursup, the platform used to handle applications to education programs. Students have criticized it for using "algorithmic selection" that disadvantages certain students.
Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu will meet with student organizations on Monday afternoon before presenting the measures.
