The artist is being removed from Sheeran's remaining US shows after shouting "liberate Palestine" during a concert in New Jersey. Following the incident, a petition was launched by an Israeli-American organization to have the artist removed.

The venues for the upcoming US tour dates have now put a stop to concerts featuring Macklemore.

"Following discussions with stakeholders, Macklemore will not be performing on the remaining support dates," the promoter of the US leg of Sheeran's Loop tour announced.

Macklemore responds on Instagram that it is "the Palestinian people who are the victims", not him or Ed Sheeran, whom he calls his friend. He writes that criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitism and "taking a stand has a cost".
