Lynx can be hunted in northern Sweden again

The administrative court in Luleå has rejected an appeal from environmental organizations regarding the three counties in the north.

The decision is justified by the fact that the lynx population is considered large enough and that reindeer husbandry is essential for the Sami as an indigenous people.

In the other ten affected counties, a hunting ban is still in effect pending legal review.

The lynx is red-listed as vulnerable in Sweden.
