In a press release, Sandgren expresses her joy.

“For me, the Stena Foundation's cultural scholarship means the best thing a writer can get: time to write,” she says.

The Sten A. Olsson Foundation for Research and Culture (a Swedish foundation) is celebrating its 30th anniversary and marking it by also appointing an honorary fellow. The honorary fellowship goes to opera director David Radok for his "outstanding work and significance as a director of opera in Gothenburg".

The other three cultural scholarship recipients are musical artist Feline Andersson, musician Simon Ljungman and artist Tarik Kiswanson. The scholarships will be awarded on December 4 in Gothenburg in the presence of the King and Queen.
