"I am very happy, proud, and honored to receive the Birgit Nilsson scholarship and will use it for studies and auditions," the opera singer said in a press release.
Qave was raised in South Africa but has lived and worked in Sweden for several years. Together with pianist Magnus Svensson, he will give his scholarship concert on August 7 in Västra Karup.
The scholarship was established by Birgit Nilsson in 1969.
