Luleå gets the chance to take its seventh consecutive national championship gold in ice hockey on the women's side. The third away match against SDE was even, but the Norrbotten team could win with 3–2 and the semifinal with 3–0 in matches.

The decisive goal was scored by Wilma Sjölund when she scored 1.48 into the third period in Enebyberg's ice rink, making it 3–1 in a numerical superiority.

Mathea Fischer did reduce the score to 2–3 four minutes later, but Luleå goalkeeper Sara Grahn held tight and the away team could secure the final ticket.

Luleå has won the SM gold on the women's side seven out of the last nine seasons. In 2017, Djurgården won, while in 2020, no SM gold winner was awarded due to the pandemic.

Which team will await in this year's final is not yet clear. Brynäs leads the semifinal series 2–1 in matches against Frölunda. This after the Gävle team won the overtime thriller at home – first, 12.30 into the second overtime period, Celine Tedenby scored the decisive 4–3 goal.
