Luleå's hockey sticks were missing in tonight's CHL semi-final against Swiss team Zug. This cost the SHL club dearly.

Luleå's sticks did not arrive on the plane from Copenhagen, and on Tuesday there was a long wait to see if they would arrive on time.

It didn't work out.

With a couple of hours to go before the game, Ulf Engman, deputy sports director, wrote on platform X that Luleå had been forced to buy new sticks for the entire team.

Cost: just over 150,000 SEK.

"Hopefully the airline or travel insurance can help cover the annoying expense. At least now we're ready to play," Engman wrote.

Zug and Luleå meet at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The return leg will be played in Luleå in a week.
