Luleå got a dream start in the premiere at home against Malmö.
It only took eleven seconds before the puck would hit the net through the new acquisition Filip Eriksson, the fastest goal in a premiere match ever in SHL, according to TV4.
Luleå was not finished there. Before two minutes were played, the team had increased to 2–0 through Markus Nurmi.
Hat-trick shooter
Malmö had nothing to put against and when the final whistle sounded after three played periods, Luleå could celebrate with the home supporters after a crushing 5–0 win. Filip Eriksson became a three-goal scorer.
Incredibly fun. My first hat-trick at senior level. It was not what you thought when you started this match, he says in TV4's broadcast.
To come as new to a team that is the reigning champion has only been a positive experience for the forward.
The team is incredibly cohesive. It has been incredibly easy to get into the group for all of us new ones, really, says Eriksson.
Overtime drama
Elsewhere, Leksand turned the tables at home against Timrå and could win the premiere with 3–2.
Also, Örebro took a premiere win away against HV71 with 4–3 after a power play frenzy by Patrik Karlkvist who scored two goals.
The match between Färjestad and Rögle went to overtime after a late equalizer by Färjestad's veteran Per Åslund. In overtime, however, Rögle drew the longest straw and could decide through Felix Nilsson to 3–2.
