"SSC Napoli announces that Romelu Lukaku did not respond to today's call to return to training. The club reserves the right to decide whether appropriate disciplinary measures should be taken and whether the player's activity in the squad should continue permanently," Napoli writes on its website.
During the international break, Lukaku chose to rehabilitate his injury on his own in Belgium. However, he has not returned to Italy as the club requested.
Lukaku has previously represented clubs such as Chelsea, Inter and Roma.
