After Luka Modric's contract with AC Milan expired at the end of last season, there was speculation about whether the 40-year-old had made his last appearance at the highest club level.
But that is not the case, the midfielder has signed for another season with the Serie A club.
"The Croatian is one of the finest and most iconic players in world football and will continue his journey in the Rossoneri shirt," Milan wrote in a press release.
Luka Modric made 37 appearances for Milan last season and captained Croatia at this summer's World Cup, where the team reached the round of 16.
