The DP Tour event at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick on Scotland's east coast is the last before this year's fourth and final golf major, the British Open at Royal Birkdale next week.
Of the five Swedes in the starting field at the Scottish Open, Ludvig Åberg is, as usual, the biggest blue-and-yellow hope going into it. And it was a decent start to the competition, despite some bumps along the way.
Åberg shot a 68, two under par, and is three strokes off the lead, with five players sharing the lead. The Swede was on course for an even better score after making three quick birdies on holes 12, 14 and 15, but then finished with a bogey on the penultimate hole. In total, Åberg had five birdies and three bogeys.
Mikael Lindberg and Alex Norén went around at -1 while Jesper Svensson and Joakim Lagergren stayed at par.
