Ludvig Åberg climbed the leaderboard after shooting a second-round 67 at the PGA Tour event in California. However, this was overshadowed by the top-placed - just 18-year-old - American Blades Brown, who is sharing the lead.

Blades Brown shares first place with world number one Scottie Scheffler after coming extremely close to a dream score of 59 in the second round. He narrowly missed a birdie putt on the final hole, but Blades Brown is now the youngest player ever on the PGA Tour to shoot a 60.

I was actually quite calm. Unfortunately the putt didn't go in, but I'm happy with how I played today, he said after the round.

No Swedish players are in contention for the outright lead heading into the weekend. Ludvig Åberg moved up 23 places to a shared 48th place thanks to his round of 67.

Corrections: Ludvig Åberg's results; the name of Scottie Scheffler; and minor linguistic errors.
