Lucas Raymond will join this week and play in one of the matches in the home tournament in Ängelholm, according to the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.

Lucas Raymond scored 76 points (25 goals and 51 assists) in the NHL last season and became the third-best Swedish point scorer behind William Nylander and Mika Zibanejad.

Together with defender Oliver Ekman-Larsson, he is one of only two Olympic players to have accepted a World Cup berth.

For the home tournament in Ängelholm, Nils Höglander of Vancouver has been forced to withdraw due to injury, which means that a total of eight NHL players remain in the squad.

The World Cup in Switzerland will be held May 15–31.
