After 0–2 at home against Switzerland, it was a disappointed Lucas Bergvall who left the pitch and was comforted by, among others, Hjalmar Ekdal.
Hjalmar is a good guy. He supported me, says the midfielder.
The 19-year-old was, despite nice words from his teammates, really disappointed after the loss and his two misses.
It feels incredibly sour, with another loss in the World Championship qualification. It was a chance where I misjudged the ball, I should score there. I take responsibility. Not much more to say about it, he says.
I just tried to get there and put my foot on it but I misjudged it.
The other chance?
It was the same thing there. I misjudged the bounce. I should do better there too.
Lucas Bergvall, who got his first minutes in the World Championship qualification, understood the fans' reactions afterwards and was determined to analyze his own performance to make better matches in the future. A follow-up work that means he has to see his misses again – but it's a job that must be done, he says.
I'm a person who always wants to look back to see what I can improve, even if it's not very fun.
