"A fantastic debut season", writes Tottenham on its website when it became official on Tuesday evening that the 19-year-old extended his contract.
Bergvall signed with the London club already in February last year, but it was not until the summer of the same year that the midfielder left Allsvenskan Djurgården.
During his first season in England, he has played a total of 45 matches in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League.
His only goal so far this season came in the first semifinal of the League Cup against Liverpool (eliminated with a 1–4 aggregate score) in January. The Swede is also credited with four assists.
Tottenham has had a tough season in the Premier League. With four matches left to play, the team is in 16th place. However, the team is in the semifinals of the Europa League, but has been eliminated from the other cups.
Bergvall, trained in Brommapojkarna, made his debut in the A-national team during the winter tour in 2024 via a substitute appearance against Estonia, but also made his competitive debut against Azerbaijan away in the Nations League in the autumn. In total, Bergvall has made four A-international appearances, all as a substitute.
