On Wednesday, Bergvall was named in Sweden's squad for the World Cup qualifying playoff against Ukraine in Valencia on March 26.
Hours later, he made his comeback after the ankle injury he suffered in the Champions League match against Dortmund on January 20.
The Swede was substituted in the 73rd minute of the round-of-16 second leg - just two minutes later, David Hancko equalized to make it 2–2 for Atletico Madrid, who thus took a 7–4 lead on aggregate.
However, Tottenham eventually won the match when Xavi Simons converted a penalty in extra time - his second goal of the match.
