According to government data, 839 asylum cases were approved up to and including November 2025. In total, Denmark registered 1,835 asylum requests during the period.
"There are few years in which the total number has been below 1,000," writes Denmark's Ministry of Migration.
"It is absolutely crucial that as few foreigners as possible come to Denmark and receive asylum. My top priority is to limit the influx of refugees," says Migration Minister Rasmus Stoklund (S).
Denmark's migration policy has moved toward tighter restrictions over the past 20 years to reduce the number of migrants and asylum seekers entering the country, a policy maintained by the government of Social Democratic Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
