"I know what you did last summer" was released in 1997 and the leading roles were played by the young starlets Freddie Prinze Jr, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe.
The film is about how a group of young people accidentally run over a man with their car and dump him in the sea. They promise each other not to reveal anything about what happened, but the next summer they start receiving anonymous letters with the text "I know what you did last summer".
The sequel "I still know what you did last summer" was released the following year. After that, a third film was made without any of the actors from the first films.
According to Deadline, the new film will premiere next summer.
