Louise Romeike will miss the European Championship in eventing at Blenheim Palace, England, in a few weeks. The Swedish star rider is pregnant. If I know her right, she will be back quickly so that she can be ready for the World Championship 2026, says the national team's captain Fredrik Bergendorff at a press conference.

Romeike was one of the riders in the Swedish trio that came fifth in the team at the Olympic Games in Versailles 2024. She has also been involved and contributed to Swedish European Championship medals in the team in 2017 (silver) and 2019 (bronze).

Association captain Bergendorff is content with selecting four team pairs:

+ Frida Andersén/Baby Blue

+ Sofia Sjöborg/Govalent

+ Amanda Staam/Corpoubet

+ Christoffer Forsberg/Sapporo.

Forsberg has not competed in a championship for Sweden in several years and is not part of the national team's elite group.

Still, he gets the chance.

We know that Sapporo is a very safe cross-country horse and that will be the pair's role, says Bergendorff to Tidningenridsport.se

The European Championship in eventing will take place 18-21 September. The location is Blenheim Palace north of Oxford, England.
