"It feels terribly sad, especially now for the World Championships, but considering the qualification for the Paralympics, it also feels sad for the team and everyone who believes in me," says the 66-year-old rider on the Swedish Equestrian Federation's website.
Etzner Jakobsson has three Paralympic medals, one silver (2021) and two bronze (2016), as well as one gold, two silver and two bronze at the European Championships (2017, 2019, 2025). Etzner Jakobsson was also Sweden's flag bearer during the opening ceremony of the Paralympics in Paris 2024.
The World Equestrian Championships in Aachen, Germany, will be held August 11–23.
