We are former players so we know how it is on the pitch and we understand the players. As former players, we start to understand the whole picture of football and it is important to bring that to this assignment, says Schelin in a video from Fifa.
The creation of the group Player's voice panel was initiated by Fifa chairman Gianni Infantino and decided on at a Fifa congress last year.
The members of the group are mixed between women and men, with different ethnic backgrounds and from nations from all six confederations. They will monitor and advise on initiatives and measures that should be implemented to counter racism in football.
The group is led by the Liberian George Weah.
