Lotta Olsson receives the Swedish Academy's prize for children's and young adult literature for 2025. The prize, which is 150,000 kronor, was established in 2021.
Lotta Olsson made her debut in 1994 with the sonnet collection "Shadows and Reflections" and has since, in addition to poetry, written both prose and drama for adults and children.
She made her debut as a children's book author in 1999 with "Talk Parsley", illustrated by Maria Jönsson, and has since, among other things, published a series of picture books about strong emotions for small children, illustrated by Emma Adbåge: "Sad" (2020), "Happy" (2021), "Scared" (2022), and "Angry" (2023).
Previous winners include Frida Nilsson, Irmelin Sandman Lilius, and Rose Lagercrantz.
