Kitchen manufacturer Nobia – with the brands Marbodal and HTH – reports a loss before tax of 263 million kronor for the second quarter of the year.
This can be compared to the loss of 45 million kronor during the corresponding quarter last year.
The adjusted operating result increased to 42 million kronor, up from 36 million.
Net sales decreased by 5 percent to 2.9 billion.
"The kitchen market was still weak during the second quarter, mainly due to a continued decline in new residential construction, with no signs of short-term improvement," says CEO Kristoffer Ljungfelt according to the interim report.
"On the other hand, the consumer market looks more promising, with an increasing number of customer contacts and design meetings during the spring, which now exceed the number from the same period last year, although they were historically low at the time," he adds.
Nobia launched a second cost-saving package in the second quarter.
"We still expect that further measures will be necessary during the autumn," says Ljungfelt.
