A little over a week ago, Eta became the first female head coach to lead a men's team in German top-flight football.
Her first match in the role came on Saturday against bottom-placed Wolfsburg, but it was a tough start. Patrick Wimmer gave the away team the lead after eleven minutes. Dženan Pejčinović extended the lead to 2–0 just after the break, before Oliver Burke reduced the deficit with just a few minutes left to play.
After the loss, Eta now has four games to secure Union's place in the Bundesliga. The team is six points away from a relegation playoff spot.
Next season, she is expected to take over the coaching role for Union's women's team.
