U.S. federal authorities, including the FBI, warned California on Wednesday that Iran may carry out attacks in the state in retaliation for the Iran war.
According to law enforcement sources the New York Post has spoken to, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has been put on high alert ahead of Sunday's gala at the Dolby Theatre.
"We want everyone to feel safe, protected and welcome, so it's our job as a production team to make sure that translates into practice. We have the support of the FBI and the LAPD," Academy Awards producer Raj Kapoor said in a statement.
