The hunt for playoff spots in the NHL is starting to heat up. In last night's round, neighbors in the standings Los Angeles and San Jose each won by one goal.
Adrian Kempe opened the scoring for Los Angeles, who won 2-1 in overtime against St. Louis. The victory means Los Angeles moves past Nashville into a playoff spot.
Alexander Wennberg scored San Jose's decisive goal in a 4-3 win over Anaheim. San Jose is also very much in the fight for a playoff spot. They are on the same points as Nashville and one point behind Los Angeles, with one game in hand.
