Sweden's Radio program "Lokko in P2" will cease broadcasting, writes program host Andres Lokko in a post on Instagram.

The program is described as a "carefully curated current affairs magazine for new music" and has been broadcast on channel P2 for three years.

"It's unfortunately part of the extensive cutbacks made across Swedish Radio and not least on P2. P2 has already been forced to discontinue several programs, some of which disappeared as early as this summer. It's never fun to deliver this kind of news", writes P2's channel manager Pia Kalischer, in a comment to TT.

According to Andres Lokko, who is highly critical of the decision, the channel manager allegedly said the program "doesn't fit in".

"We are discussing with the production company the possibility of making another, shorter series with Andres Lokko for next year. We'll see where it lands", writes Pia Kalischer.

The last program will be broadcast on December 29, but SR doesn't want to disclose what it will be replaced with at present.
