What started as an intermission sketch at Melodifestivalen has become a real band, sort of. After last Christmas's success, Björnzone's unofficial World Cup song has now passed one million plays on Spotify.
Loa Falkman hopes there will be a reunion of the boy band project with Björn Gustafsson, Eric Saade and company in the future.
"It's a bit like the Salvation Army, we keep the pot boiling, so to speak. We stick together and text and joke around with each other. It's really fun," he says.
Perry co-composer
The song, just like the group's previous works, was written by Swedish Los Angeles producer Johan Carlsson, together with Mark Owen from Take That. The co-composer is also world star Katy Perry, who according to Loa Falkman is a Björnzone fan.
Fun, Falkman thinks, even though he wasn't immediately impressed.
I didn't know who it was.
In the song's final chorus, the 78-year-old baritone sings solo. He also backs up actor Adam Lundgren when he raps.
It's kind of funny that after 50 years in my career, I'm getting to break through as a "hype man" in rap like this. They're a fucking great group, Björnzone, so I'm incredibly happy.
The “Last” Tour
This winter, Loa Falkman will hit the road again with artist, musician and presenter Tina Ahlin. The trip is being marketed as Loa Falkman's last major tour. How seriously should we take that promise?
With a whole handful of salt, he says himself.
"I get stimulated by working and singing and oxygenating the blood makes you feel good. So we'll see," he continues.
But why is it advertised as a final tour?
I guess it's just to attract people, I don't know.
