The unions are demanding that private-sector employees continue earning occupational pension rights later in life.
The employers have rejected the demand, saying it would lead to a substantial increase in costs.
"Now we are simply raising the tone and telling them that if we have not resolved these issues, there may be a strike in December," LO's contract secretary Veli-Pekka Säikkälä tells Ekot.
The demand is motivated by the expectation that more and more white-collar workers will extend their working lives and work later in life.
