"From the club's side, we, of course, support Isaac with what he needs," Ljungskile writes on its website.

The 26-year-old striker has played ten games in the Super League this season and scored one goal. He was absent from the squad in the most recent match against Oddevold, and the club has now explained why.

Because of the treatment, Shears will need to take a break from football.

"We hope for a good recovery so that we can soon see Isaac back at Skarsjövallen!" the club writes.

Shears has previously represented Falkenberg, Vänersborg and IK Zenith, among others.
