Liverpool suffered a shock away loss on Monday after Wolverhampton scored the decisive 2-1 goal in extra time.
When Liverpool, last year's league champions, returned to Wolverhampton four days later, things went better.
After a goalless first half, Liverpool struck twice shortly after the break. Left-back Andy Robertson fired into the far corner to make it 1–0 in the 51st minute, and just two minutes later, Mohamed Salah made it 2–0.
When Curtis Jones made it 3–0 in the 74th minute, a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals was secured.
Wolves scored a consolation goal in extra time through Hwang Hee-Chan.
