The Merseyside derby at Goodison Park ended in chaos.
Players from both teams clashed after the home team's Abdoulaye Doucouré celebrated the 2-2 result in front of the Liverpool supporters.
Shortly afterwards, Arne Slot approached the main referee Michael Oliver and quickly received the red card.
"Slot received a red card for using inappropriate language", Premier League wrote in a statement.
A statement that was shortly afterwards removed. And now there is confusion surrounding the two-match ban that was announced.
Journalist James Pearce, The Athletic, writes on X that the association has three working days to review a potential ban and that the decision is not yet fully established.
Remains to be seen if Slot, whose Liverpool leads the Premier League, will miss the meetings with Wolverhampton and Aston Villa.
