Liverpool has not really been itself during the last month.
After having pulverized everything in both Premier League and Champions League during the autumn and winter, the team has since March 11th both been eliminated from Champions League and lost a league cup final.
And on Sunday against Fulham, the downturn continued.
The defense let in all three goals already in the first half, and had to leave West London and Craven Cottage with zero points. Thus, Liverpool suffered its first loss in the league since September 14th and only its second overall.
The final score was 3–2 in favor of Fulham.
However, they do not need to be overly worried about the league title slipping out of their hands.
Despite the point loss, the gap to second-place Arsenal still remains eleven points, after the "Gunners" only managed a draw against Everton on Saturday.
It went better for Lucas Bergvall's Tottenham, who played against bottom-placed Southampton in parallel. The Swede had a ball in the goal, but after a longer VAR check, it was ruled out for offside.
Tottenham won the match anyway with 3–1, thanks to a double from Brennan Johnson.
The loss means that Southampton will be relegated from Premier League after the season. The team has only earned ten points throughout the entire season, and has 22 points to make up to 17th-placed Wolverhampton with 21 games left to play.
