Liverpool says an examination shows Mohamed Salah is suffering from "a minor muscle injury."
Salah was substituted against Crystal Palace on Saturday, and on Sunday Egyptian national team doctor Ibrahim Hassan announced that it was a muscle injury that would require four weeks' rest.
The 33-year-old star is leaving Liverpool this summer after nine successful seasons, and Sunday's developments made it seem unlikely Salah would have time to wear the Liverpool shirt one last time.
Now the club says that "Salah is expected to return before the end of the 2025-26 season."
There are four rounds remaining in the Premier League, the final round of which will be played on May 24.
