There is already a Beatles museum in Liverpool’s docklands, but when Apple Corps, the company that manages The Beatles’ business interests, takes over its operation in 2027, it will expand and move to a new 9,000-square-metre facility in a former market hall.
In addition, a “Yellow Submarine” experience will be created in the 122-metre-high former radio tower, St Johns Beacon.
Paul McCartney says in a statement that he hopes people will “step into our history”, while Ringo Starr notes that Liverpool was, and still is, the music city above all others.
The new facility is scheduled to open in spring 2028, shortly after the release of Sam Mendes’ four films about the iconic band members.
