LIV Golf’s new investor pulls support from struggling tour, Financial Times reports

New lead investor BC Partners Credit is withdrawing its support for the struggling LIV golf tour, the Financial Times reports.

BC Partners Credit had pledged nearly SEK 3 billion to save the LIV Tour after Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) abandoned the project.

But the investment was conditional on enough players showing interest in “LIV 2.0”, and recently the withdrawals have been mounting.

Stars such as Jon Rahm, Ian Poulter and Tyrrell Hatton have left, while only four players have publicly said they want to continue playing on the tour.

The LIV Tour, which filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this fall, has not commented on the report about BC Partners Credit.
