LIV filed for bankruptcy protection in the US in September after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced that funding for the breakaway tour would end after 2026.
“Our goal is to help LIV Golf emerge from the restructuring process on a sound financial footing and with renewed drive for the 2027 season,” says BC CEO Ted Goldthorpe.
The investment must be approved by the bankruptcy court before it can be used.
According to a previous press release from LIV, the goal is for the tour to be largely owned by players. However, it is still unclear whether stars such as Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm will continue to play on the LIV tour next season.
