Lionel Richie falls ill on stage, cancels concert in Saint Paul, Minnesota

The 77-year-old singer told the audience that he felt dizzy and unwell during the first hour of the concert. During the song “Dancing on the Ceiling,” he sat down on stage. He later played “Three Times a Lady” on the piano and then announced an unscheduled break. He never returned.

Concertgoers reported that band members said Richie was not feeling well. He has yet to comment publicly on the incident. The show was the opening night of his joint tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. The band's next show is scheduled in Chicago on Friday, but it is not yet clear whether the incident will affect that show.
