Aftonbladet has read parts of Ullmark's interview with TSN, his first since he temporarily paused his career for personal reasons at the end of December.
Ullmark's NHL club Ottawa has already strongly distanced itself from the "completely fabricated and false stories being spread on social media."
Now Ullmark himself says:
"The rumors spread about my family and me started the day after I took a break. And people wonder why hockey players and professional athletes don't talk, why we don't show any emotion, why mental illness in both men and women is stigmatized?"
"It took them less than 24 hours from when I took the day off to try to find reasons why I was gone, calling me a family destroyer, someone no one on the team liked. And I couldn't defend myself."
A few days ago, Linus Ullmark was back in training with Ottawa, but it is unclear when he will be able to play games again.
