Linn Svahn took a favored victory in her comeback from a foot injury. Svahn won the classic-style mile race in the Swedish Cup in Falun.

"The foot felt great. It came really quickly out of nowhere and then it was over. Something must have gotten stuck. I couldn't walk for a few days," Svahn said in Expressen's TV broadcast.

The foot injury, which occurred on Christmas Eve, meant that Linn Svahn had to withdraw from the Tour de Ski. The Östersund skier has had a difficult season and missed the start of the season due to illness.

Svahn, who missed the World Championships last year with a concussion, took third place in the World Cup sprint in Trondheim in December.

She won by a nine-second margin ahead of Evelina Crüsell, the Skellefteå skier who replaced Linn Svahn in the Tour de Ski.

The two were in a class of their own, and third-placed Tove Ericsson of Hudiksvall was 1.17 behind.

Now that I haven't competed as much this year, it's more of a learning curve, but it's always fun to win, Svahn said.

On Saturday, sprints are on the schedule and a star duel awaits between Linn Svahn and Jonna Sundling.
