Linn Svahn's Ski World Championship in Trondheim (27 February–9 March) ended before the championship had even begun.
On 26 February – the day before the opening sprint competition – the 25-year-old crashed in a downhill slope towards the stadium during a training session. A concussion was confirmed and Svahn was forced to go home to Sweden.
"A bit tricky"
Now, over two months have passed, but Svahn is still affected by the crash.
She got a confirmed concussion and it has been a bit tricky to get started. It's probably about what I know and have been told by the medical team, says women's coach Stefan Thomson at a digital press conference.
Svahn is one of eight women – the same skiers as last season – who are part of the upcoming season's national team on the women's side, where the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina in February are the big goal.
One has been able to gradually start working according to her conditions, but she is not in phase so that she is in full training yet.
Karlsson in light training
At the World Championship in Trondheim, Frida Karlsson won gold in the 5-mile, bronze in the 10-kilometer, and was part of the Swedish gold team in the relay, but she was struggling with a foot injury before and during the season.
After the championship, Karlsson cancelled the rest of the competition season.
She has taken a calmer spring, letting her body heal. She has started to get going with some lighter training. I think it has been an important period for her, says Stefan Thomson.
