There will be no Tour de Ski for Linn Svahn. The Swedish cross-country star has been forced to withdraw from the race due to a foot injury.

When the Tour de Ski kicks off in Toblach on Sunday, it will be without Linn Svahn. During a training session, the 26-year-old felt something in her right foot, and it was enough to drop out of the Tour de Ski.

She is replaced by Evelina Crüsell, 21.

"We have decided that Linn will not be participating in the tour as a precautionary measure. It is a minor injury, probably due to a pinched nerve, but based on the fact that she has had a good training period, we do not want to risk the strain that a tour entails at this time," says national team coach Stefan Thomson in a statement.

The Tour de Ski will be held from December 28 to January 4.

The entire tour will be run in Italy over a total of six stages, the first four in Toblach and the final two in Val di Fiemme. The courses in Val di Fiemme are the same ones that will be used during the Olympics in February.

Swedish team, women: Ebba Andersson, Maja Dahlqvist, Lisa Eriksson, Johanna Hagström, Moa Ilar, Frida Karlsson, Moa Lundgren, Emma Ribom, Märta Rosenberg, Evelina Crüsell.

Men: Edvin Anger, Gustaf Berglund, Johan Ekberg, Jonas Eriksson, Truls Gisselman, Anton Grahn, Alvar Myhlback, William Poromaa, Eric Rosjö.
