The match at Bernardus Golf is still ongoing, but Grant can already sum up a perfect Solheim Cup for herself. After three victories in pairs with Maja Stark, Grant was able to beat Angel Yin 4/3 in her singles match.
The out-of-form Yin, who had not competed for two months this summer because of health problems, had little to offer the Swede. In sometimes miserable golfing weather - the sky opened up for a while - the American made five straight bogeys early on, and Linn Grant then took the opportunity to extend her lead.
Hull showed the way
It was 8-8 going into the singles matches. Charley Hull, the star who had had a tough week, got revenge and secured a point for Europe by beating Megan Khang in the first singles.
Grant secured the second point for Europe to make it 10-8 when the sun had finally come out after all the rain.
"Very nice. I'm of course very happy to get four points this week," says Linn Grant after the victory.
The United States equalized
Alison Lee then staged a magnificent comeback against Esther Henseleit. The German was four up with seven holes to go, but the American turned it around to win and match Grant's record of four wins out of four.
World number one Nelly Korda then secured another point for the USA to tie the score at 10-10.
But Europe, with Anna Nordqvist as captain, still has the upper hand in most of the matches that are underway. However, not in Maja Stark's match, where Lindy Duncan is three up after ten holes.
Europe needs to reach 14.5 points to win. If it's 14-14, the USA, the reigning champions, will retain the title.
