Linn Gestblom married her husband, Christian Gestblom, in the summer of 2024 and then changed her surname from Persson.
The 32-year-old from Värmland missed two full seasons a couple of years ago because of a shoulder injury. However, she made a sensational comeback and won relay silver at this year's Olympics in Milan - her third consecutive Olympic medal.
The pregnancy announcement is the biathlon national team's second this season. Last summer, biathletes Hanna Öberg and Martin Ponsiluoma announced that they were expecting their first child and that the upcoming season would therefore "offer new challenges."
