Linköping FC is getting closer to relegation from Damallsvenskan. The three-time champion club lost heavily, 1–4, at home to AIK.

LFC won the SM gold in 2009, 2016 and 2017, but is now on its way out of the top division.

The Friday evening football audience in Linköping – only 537 spectators were in the stands – got to see the home team's Lisa Björk equalize to 1–1 in stoppage time in the first half.

But AIK responded quickly and strongly at the beginning of the second half, when Matilda Plan and Adelisa Grabus within the span of three minutes made sure to give the guests a 3–1 lead. Plan later became a two-goal scorer when she set the winning score to 4–1.

The second-to-last LFC still has three points up to Rosengård on the qualifying spot, but a look at the remaining game schedule makes the situation even darker for the Östergötland team.

To start with, Rosengård will meet Norrköping on Sunday when the 23rd round is completed.

In the next round, Rosengård will then meet the last-place team Alingsås at home, while Linköping will face the series-leading Häcken away. Already then, LFC's relegation can be a fact.
