Last Tuesday, the government announced that the Ostlänken, which will run between Järna and Linköping, will stop short of Linköping Central Station. This means there will be no new central station in Linköping - instead, the current connection to the Stångådals and Tjust lines will remain.

Municipal councilor Stefan Eriksson (M) told P4 Östergötland at the time that the announcement was “a big betrayal” and “a joke”. And now the municipal board in Linköping has decided to file a claim for compensation for work put into planning the Ostlänken. The sum corresponds to the costs the municipality has incurred since 2013.
